Laïka / Roy Hargrove et RH Factor invitent MC Solaar (Festival d'Enghien les Bains - 05/07/09)
Vous ne serez pas surpris de lire un nouvel article sur le trompettiste Roy Hargrove. Je ne manque aucun de ses concerts. Mais cette fois-ci, il ne s'agissait pas de son quintette de jazz. Au festival d'Enghien les Bains, le public a eu le plaisir d'écouter son projet groove et funk avec RH Factor, et en invités de marque la chanteuse Renée Neufville et le rappeur français MC Solaar.
Notons tout d'abord une très belle première partie qui se voulait une ode à Lady Day (Billie Holiday), clamée et chantée avec délicatesse par Laïka.

Puis, en deuxième partie, Roy Hargrove et son RH Factor nous emmène sur scène avec de belles chansons et d'intéressants instrumentaux. Un véhicule qui met un peu d'amour et d'âme dans les musiques urbaines actuelles. Rien que pour cela, il doit être remercié, écouté, suivi et reconnu.
Au programme, des morceaux de ces derniers albums 'Hard Groove", "Strenght", et "Distractions". De "Crazy Race" à "Juicy" en passant par "I'll stay" (enregistrée en studio avec d'Angelo mais que Hargrove chante depuis sur scène, sur un groove planant, bluesy et psychédélique).
Des solos de cuivres puissants et naturels, la voix soul et langoureuse de Renée Neufville (surtout sur "Forget Regret").
Un esprit "Love & Soul" dans le Funk.

Et MC Solaar, me direz-vous ? Une voix reconnaissable entre tous, et un prestation remarquée sur "Qui sème le vent récolte le tempo", sublimée par l'accompagnement et les improvisations des cuivres.
